1 Birthday, 3 Desserts and a Couple Christmas Trees
Last night I celebrated my boyfriends birthday. Being born five days before Christmas makes it pretty difficult to get good presents for two special occasions (thank you Mere for that great planning haha). I tried to cook a full meal but I am not a domestic goddess and cant cook a steak as good as him so he did that himself! Then we went out and enjoyed dessert at Keystone. I recommend the Skillet Cookie and the Eton Mess.
We then went and enjoyed what Hamilton has to offer at Christmas time. For a little city it doesn't do a bad job at providing Christmas entertainment. From Keystone we headed to the Meteor theatre and wondered around the Christmas Tree gallery. To be fair it was more like I dragged Nathan around to look at handmade Christmas trees. Trees at the Meteor has become an annual tradition of mine and if you are around Hamilton while they are open I recommend checking it out. Anyone can submit a tree personally created to be judged by the public. Its always cool to see what others have interpreted and created from that interpretation.
From the Meteor we went to Temple View and admired the annual light display that the Mormon temple puts on for the community. It was smaller this year then most but still just as pretty!! For a city that gets a lot of s*** from the rest of the country it does a pretty good job at Christmas time. I definitely recommend checking it out if you haven't already Hamiltonians!
Anyone who knows Nathan, knows how great of a guy he is. During the time we have been together, he has grown so much. I have watched him grow in confidence deciding that he is good, and smart, enough to chase his dreams. This year was a huge sacrifice for him but he came through and became a world champion, a goal he has been striving to achieve for 2 years now. Not only that but he was a dedicated student, producing some of his best grades this year. Not very many people know how hard he works and how much pressure he places on himself to succeed. Yet, he would go out of his way to help anyone who needs it.
To be honest I am probably the luckiest girl to be loved by a man like him. Though he annoys the hell out of me, there is no-one else that I'd rather do life with. Not very many people in this world would willingly put up with my demands but this one does. He has been my rock these past three years. Being away from my mum and siblings often means that he gets the full brunt of anything I am dealing with, yet he takes it all in stride. I have been so blessed to have Nathan in my life. I hope I have been as positive of an impact on his life as he has been in mine. I will be forever grateful for this one.
ps. This week you found Nathan xx
